G-Unit member Lloyd Banks has opened up about his upcoming "surprise" guest collaboration and said fans will be shocked by the feature considering past issues he has had with the artist.
Although keeping details to a minimum, Banks promised the track is "crazy."
"I got another record that's crazy, that's getting ready to come in," Banks told DJ Whoo Kid. "We gonna release that after, they ain't ever gonna guess who the feature is with, but it's crazy. Nah, it's definitely crazy considering the events that took place in the past but I think it's gonna be exciting, you know what I'm saying? And on top of that, it's a good record, you know what I'm saying? All the BS to the side, it's a very good record and I'm excited about it." (Forbez DVD)
Earlier this month, Banks hinted at the collaboration being worked on.
"Another record is on the way, man," Banks said in an interview referring to a "Beamers" follow-up. "I can't tell you who it's with yet, but it's one of the last n*ggas you would think I'd do a record with. It's retarded. I got a few things in store but I don't want to get to the names yet, probably when I get back in April, I'll give it a title." (Jon John TV)
At 50 Cent's This Is 50 Fest last fall, Banks discussed his aim to work with "everybody" within the rap game.
"V5 will be up pretty soon...Features on the mixtape, I got Tony Yayo of course, I'm trying to get him on another one before we wrap up. Shout-out to Havoc, I got Havoc on there. Shout-out to Cormega, getting ready to get that linked up right now. We got Nipsey Hussle on board, once again, shout-out to Nipsey Hussle, the whole West Coast. And the rest is a secret, but we definitely gonna get it going. Shout-out to Beanie Sigel too, Freeway what's poppin'? Young Chris too, I'm down to work with everybody. And I just hollered at Slaughterhouse too, so we might get something on there before V5 come out. We giving people what they want to see." (This Is 50)
Last summer, former G-Unit rap nemesis Joe Budden displayed his interest to record with Banks.
"I wanna do a song with Lloyd Banks," Budden revealed in a live blog chat on Friday (July 3) afternoon alongside his friend/producer Dough Boy. "I gotta get him, pause. Yeah, that's what I want. I think he's ducking me. I think Banks was dope and then he fell the f*ck off and then he got right back up. So personally, for me, I would want to do a song with him. Nah, he don't got no personality. I'd have to see if I could tear him up [on a record]." (Blog TV)
