Two Juelz Santana fans have reportedly been named in a criminal court complaint for using a fake credit card in an attempt to pay for their $28,000 bill at the rapper's New York birthday celebration this week.
Details on the criminals' background and the allegations made against them have been released.
Robsson Depeine and Jeff Sylvain were trying to impress the celebrity crowd Monday night--which included Lil Kim and Snoop Dogg, there for rapper Juelz Santana's birthday--ordering bottles of expensive bubbly--even sending one over to the birthday boy. After ordering 40 bottles of Moet Nectar Rose, and a 9 liter bottle of Veuve Clicquot, the duo asked for a $5,500 twelve liter bottle. Manager Dan Devlin said "That's when one of our managers became suspicious. The purchase was ridiculous and Sylvain introduced a second card with his ID and I knew that's when there was a problem." Originally an AMEX gift card that Sylvain had doctored was holding the tab open. (The Gothamist)
Attorney Joseph Coluccio has denied his clients' involvement in the situation.
"My Clients were invited to a birthday party. There were several people putting down credit cards and ordering pricey bottles of champagne. There was chaos at the end of the night and the bartender realized that there had been fraudulent transactions. The club couldn't find the real person who gave them the credit card, so my clients were wrongfully identified. It's a joke." (New York Post)
Santana's New York birthday celebration was also the location of a publicized fight.
Rapper Juelz Santana's 27th birthday party turned into a battle royale Monday night when a club goer hopped the divider into the VIP area -- and got the living crap beat out of him while the rapper watched. It's unclear exactly what started the brawl -- but the guy wearing the Rev Run hat definitely did something to piss off the mob waiting in the VIP section at M2 Ultralounge in New York. After a failed attempt to defuse the situation, several men began wailing on the Rev Run-alike until he was on the ground. Somehow, the man emerged from the chaos and was able to leave the club. Rapper Maino can be seen in the melee, but is never actually seen throwing a punch. (TMZ)
