New York rap veteran Busta Rhymes has expressed his overall reaction to being a part of bringing awareness to the current Haiti post-earthquake relief efforts by performing at last night's SOS (Saving Ourselves) - Help for Haiti concert.
Writing via Twitter, Bussa Buss also discussed his satisfaction with performing the tribute, "We Will Stand."
"LET ME JUST SAY THAT THERE IS NO AMOUNT OF WORDS THANK DESCRIBE HOW HUMBLED I AM AFTER SUCH AN INVREDIBLE MOMENT BEIN ON THIS STAGE 2NIGHT !," he wrote last night (February 5). "I WANNA THANK THE MOST HIGH 1ST AND FOREMOST 4 GIVING ME THE INSPIRATION AND CHOSING ME 2 BE ALIVE ON THIS DAY AND ABLE 2 TOUCH THE SOULS! Lil Wayne, Wyclef Jean, Mary J. Blige and Sean 'Diddy' Combs have announced plans for another Haiti concert. They will join a host of hip-hop acts including Pharrell Williams, Chris Brown and Queen Latifah at the Black Entertainment TV (BET) two hour event 'SOS Saving OurSelves - Help for Haiti', which will be broadcast live from Miami on February 5. The event will air on US TV channels MTV, VH1, BET and Centric at 8pm EST. Meanwhile, Wyclef Jean has hinted that his former band Fugees may reform and record a charity single to raise money for the victims of the earthquake. (New Lil Wayne)
Southern rappers Bun B and Slim Thug put together a Haiti benefit event last month.
Bun B has gathered a stellar line-up of Houston artists for a fund raiser event that has been called "Houston For Haiti." The show will take place Monday, January 18 (MLK Day) from 4 to 8 PM at Warehouse Live in Houston. Along with Bun B, Slim Thug, Trae The Truth, ESG, Lil O, Candi Redd, Just Brittany, Corey Moand The Party Boyz have been confirmed to perform, so far. More artist are expected to join the bill. Local athletes including Vince Young of the Tennesse Titans will also make appearances. "We all need to get involved" says Bun B. Wyclef Jean and actor George Clooney recently hosted the Hope For Haiti telethon.
A host of major U.S. network and cable channels will broadcast a massive charity telethon Friday Jan. 22 for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, the stations announced Friday. George Clooney and Haitian-American Wyclef Jean will host from the U.S., while CNN'sAnderson Cooper broadcasts from the devastated Caribbean nation. It will air commercial-free on ABC, BET, CBS, CMT, CNN, NBC, FOX, HBO, MTV, the CW and VH1 at 8 p.m. ET, according to a statement. (My Fox News)
