Rappers Shawty Lo and Lil Wayne have teamed up to shoot a music video for "WTF," the collaboration track they created strictly for the streets.
According to Shawty, the video shoot took place earlier this week.
"It's just what it stands for: 'What the F,' man," Lo said about the song. "It's crazy, man. It's a record me and Weezy did at the beginning of the month. We decided we might as well shoot the video for it. It's a good look. Everybody wants the song, but I'mma release it [NBA] All-Star Weekend. It's just basically street. 'What the F.' Our style of music. Nice beat, crazy lyrics. It was crazy. Everybody came out and supported. We started 6 in the a.m. and didn't finish until 6 the next morning. We had a club performance, we had the rooftop performance and an inside-studio performance. Like, three, four good scenes. It's gonna be a good video...We got a lot of good footage." (MTV)
Reports earlier this week suggested Wayne was recording at least two videos over the past few days.
"Lil Wayne and rapper Shawty Lo will be shooting a music video in Atlanta on Monday. The video is for a song featuring Lil Wayne off of Shawty Lo's upcoming album" a source told NewLilWayne.com. "Lil Wayne will also be shooting another music video the following day with Birdman and Playaz Circle for the record "Big Dawg" off of Playaz Circle's current album Flight 360: The Takeoff." The rapper is set to begin his sentence in a couple weeks.
Come 2010, Lil Wayne will have to face the music. The rap superstar appeared in court for a brief appearance this morning (December 15) where a judge set a February 9 sentencing date regarding his New York gun possession case. XXLMag.com confirmed with his attorney, Stacey Richman, that not only will Weezy be officially sentenced, but he is also scheduled to surrender himself to authorities and be shipped off to prison on that same day. He is expected to face 366 days behind bars. (XXL Mag)
Rapper Nicki Minaj shared her reaction to her labelmate's situation last month.
"He is going to be up there in February. I'll [visit him] as often as I can. I mean, he's gonna be in New York and I'm from New York, so, I would love to just come up there as often as I can. But he's gonna be, there's gonna be so many people there so you know, I'm sure it'll go by in like, days, to him. It'll probably be a very weird experience but I think at the end he'll come out stronger, like, he always does. Nothing ever fazes him really." (Jenny Boom Boom TV)
