Just a month after the release of Lil Wayne and Bow Wow's Hurricane Season straight-to-dvd movie, Weinstein Co. senior executive David Glasser has justified the company's decision to avoid theaters.

According to Glasser, the movie industry is still going through a financial crunch.

Hurricane Season" director Tim Story ("Barbershop," "Fantastic Four") told Company Town that he was disappointed the movie never made it to the big screen. "I have to applaud them for making the movie, but I don't believe the job was finished," he said. The company said its well-publicized financial issues had nothing to do with the decision regarding "Hurricane Season." In a statement, Weinstein Co. senior executive David Glasser said, "It's a very tough marketplace and unfortunately the film did not test well. It was in the best interest of the financial returns on the picture to go straight to video." (Los Angeles Times)

Writing via Twitter last month, co-star/rapper Bow Wow shared his reaction to the film being leaked online.

"@TherealTaraji im so mad how they did us in hurricane.," he wrote Tuesday (December 15) night. "not letting us know what they was gone do. and then next thing its all over the net." (Bow Wow's Twitter)

Actress Taraji P. Henson displayed her followers' reactions to the movie.

The film leaked across the Internet in early December 2009.

Earlier today (December 13), the movie which Lil Wayne, Bow Wow and Forest Whitaker all star in - Hurricane Season leaked to the internet. Unfortunately the movie is going to straight to DVD and will not be in the theaters, but MWP has captured just Weezy's and Bow Weezy's parts in the film so you can all watch. (Lil Wayne HQ)
