Kanye West has commented on the day he spent feeding the homeless with girlfriend Amber Rose.
Writing on his popular blog, West explained how the occasion was humbling.
"The day after Christmas, Amber, my cousin Ricky, and I went to feed the homeless at the LA Mission," he wrote Monday (January 4). "It was really humbling and emotional for us. I wanna thank Mari Ronquillo and the LA Mission for allowing me to participate." (Kanye West's Blog)
Reports spread online late last month regarding West's charity move.
"It's just important [to give back] when you're very blessed," West said. West showed up ready to work. He went straight for the kitchen, put on a apron and got on serving duty. "[It's nice] to spread your blessings and take time out, especially during the holidays to appreciate people who never get that appreciation. It makes me feel really good to come out here, [with] my family, and I just thank ya'll [the Los Angeles Mission] for allowing us to be apart of this." (The Boom Box)
The location is known for helping the needy over the past seven decades.
The Los Angeles Mission is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the homeless for more than 70 years. Located in L.A.'s downtown Skid Row district, the organization offers employment, transitional services and rehabilitation to those struggling with substance abuse. (Industry Fokery)
Kanye has shown signs of returning to the music industry with a recent rant at a Kid Cudi concert.
"I had to get up out this motherf*cker for a second," Ye told the crowd. "I love the game so much and I'm so passionate about it that I just can't take this sh*t sometimes. And if they take everything away from me it wouldn't f*cking matter. Artists be too concerned about their well-being sometimes. Artists be too scared to stand up for something. They scared to lose they f*cking house or they scared to lose their record deal. I sold my soul to the devil, I know it's a crappy deal/At least it came with a few toys like a Happy Meal."
