Rap veteran Snoop Dogg surprised fans last October by guest hosting a WWE broadcast, however, his appearance failed to ignite strong ratings.
Raw guest host Snoop Dogg was scripted to announce the new special attraction singles matches in the opening segment to boost interest in the show up against ESPN's Monday Night Football. Of course, in typical Snoop Dogg fashion, he made an entrance with [wrestling vixens] Eve and the Bella Twins in tow. Wrestlers must have taken his skinny demeanor as something to not be intimidated by, but everybody's uncle had something in store for the likes of one Chavo Guerrero. Coming to the aid of Hornswoggle, Snoop proceeded to assert his force as the host by laying Guerrero out with a clothesline and following it up with a spear. (Examiner)
The special show's ratings lost out to other programs including Monday Night Football.
WWE Raw did a 3.3 cable rating last night off hours of 3.48 and 3.17. This is the second week in a row where the show did a lower rating for hour two than hour one which is not good at all. Monday Night Football on ESPN did a 9.6 rating. The Dodgers-Phillies game on TBS did a 3.9 rating. AM Raw on 10/17 did a 0.45 rating. AM RAW on 10/17 did a 0.45 rating. Reports landed online earlier this fall which suggested Kanye West was in talks with the WWE, however, this turned out to be false.
According to reports sent by pro wrestling insiders to MediaTakeOut.com, Vince McMahon and the WWE have offered Kanye close to $10 million to show up at 3 events two television appearances and one pay-per-view event. Word is that if he accepts the offer, Kanye would have to do some light wrestling. And get this, MediaTakeOut.com is hearing that Kanye is seriously considering it. (Daily Fill)
