Rap newcomer Kid Cudi recently lashed out against the shady practices of the recording industry and slammed artists trying to taint his name.
Speaking to a crowd of fans at the House of Blues, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina venue, Cudi aired out his thoughts.
"They trying to make me look like the poster boy for violence and ignorance," Cudi told a crowd of fans. "I tell motherf*ckers I'm the poster boy for honesty, realness, anarchy, I don't give a f*ck about this business -- I'm the truest motherf*cker in this business and people trying to destroy me. All these other n*ggas that y'all probably fans of is sucker a** n*ggas, I met them. N*ggas I was a fan of when I was buying their CDs, I'm not a fan of they music no more. This business is WWF fam and if you don't comply, they try to destroy you...I never talk sh*t, I came to this game, just wanted to smoke my weed and motherf*ckers just wanna destroy me, I don't give a f*ck. I'm unstoppable." (Vimeo)
Cudi recently allowed Kanye West to lash out against the rap game at a California concert last week.
"I had to get up out this motherf*cker for a second," Ye told the crowd. "I love the game so much and I'm so passionate about it that I just can't take this sh*t sometimes. And if they take everything away from me it wouldn't f*cking matter. Artists be too concerned about their well-being sometimes. Artists be too scared to stand up for something. They scared to lose they f*cking house or they scared to lose their record deal. I sold my soul to the devil, I know it's a crappy deal/At least it came with a few toys like a Happy Meal." He also made headlines last week after being wrongly detained by police in Los Angeles.
Two police cars cordoned off the road while a further three pulled up next to Cudi's vehicles. Passengers in the cars were then ordered out with their hands on their heads, before being made to kneel on the ground where they were handcuffed. It was only then that Los Angeles Police Department officers realized it was a case of mistaken identity. After the passengers had been released, the officer in charge explained that a resident in the vicinity of the shop had mistakenly identified the party as being involved in a burglary, before allowing Cudi's entourage to go on its way. Prior to the incident, Cudi parted ways with his opening slot on Lady Gaga's Monster's Ball Tour.
Sources at Interscope Records confirm the rapper is "no longer" with the tour -- but wouldn't say if the decision had anything to do with YouTube footage showing Cudi punching fans in the front row of a concert in Vancouver this past weekend. We're told Cudi will be replaced on the Gaga tour by Jason Derulo --the guy who sings "Whatcha Say." (TMZ)
