Comedian Katt Williams has spoken to media in hopes of clearing his name from being attached to publicized reports of being involved in a shotgun incident at a Georgia Wal-Mart last Friday (December 4).

Speaking to local media, Williams said he feels like he has been targeted by police.

"This guy's saying he's her boyfriend and he's brought his family with him," Williams told media. "Now one of them has a holster and a pocket full of bullets and a pistol. So I tell them, let's step outside. Once they get me outside and there's six of them and of of me. Then all of a sudden, they calling the sheriff to tell the sheriff I got guns and I'm the problem...This is a witch hunt, it's getting to the point where I feel like I'm being persecuted because this don't make no sense. You can't act like I'm a trouble maker, I been here for two months, I ain't been to a club yet." (Action News 2)

Originally believed to be responsible for a shotgun accusation, police officials said Williams had not been charged.

Katt Williams did not have a shotgun on his person when police arrived at a Georgia Walmart earlier today, this according to the Newnan Police Department. Newnan Deputy Police Chief Rodney Riggs tells TMZ Katt was handcuffed, put in the back of a police car and questioned about an alleged altercation in the Walmart parking lot -- but Riggs says Williams was released at the scene and never officially booked. Early reports suggested a fight broke out between Williams' entourage and another crew.

The comedian was arrested just minutes ago, and he's being taken to Coweta County jail. Word has it that a few members of his crew were taken into custody too. Reportedly, there was an incident with another entourage, but there's no word on what actually happened or what charges Katt is being booked on. Sources say that six police cars were called to a Wal-Mart parking lot because of the run-in. Katt was one of about 12 men who were rounded up. (S2Magazine)

A spokesperson that covered the event also gave details on Friday.

Gina Lau Snider, spokeswoman for the City of Newnan, said police responded to a disturbance call around 2 p.m. but is unclear as to who made the call and what the disturbance could actually be. "Some of the news media are reporting the incident is involving an 18-wheeler possibly owned by Williams, but I don't know if that is the case," she said. (Atlanta Constitution-Journal)
