Former Firm members AZ and Foxy Brown will reportedly re-link for a mini reunion as the New York rappers take stage for a performance together in the Big Apple later this month.
The duo will get together in support of AZ's upcoming Envy movie.
Former firm members Foxy Brown and AZ will reunite in New York City for a rare performance together. Brown and AZ will hit the stage to perform during the DVD release of the movie Envy at New York City night club S.O.B.'s on Thursday December 10th. Although ex-Firm member Nas is not billed to perform, SOHH recently spoke with AZ about his relationship with the fellow Queens, New York emcee.
"I mean, I reached out to him, uhm, I think he's going through a couple of whirls, he's going through a lot of situations so we haven't really sat down and politic'ed and talked about everything," AZ explained. "Actually, I did reach out for this Doe Or Die 2, that's what I'm working on, the Doe Or Die 2 stuff. Raekwon did the Cuban Linx , and The Blueprint 3 and the Carter III and IV, so them sequels do good in the marketplace. So I'm trying to do this Doe Or Die 2, I reached out to him, I haven't gotten feedback as of yet, but like I said, look at what he's going through." (SOHH)
The Firm is known for coming together for one album around 1996.
The East Coast gangsta rap supergroup the Firm never lived up to its excessive hype and instead became a brief footnote in the careers of its main participants. The foursome included four New York rappers -- Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ, and Nature -- but was actually the pet project of its producers: Nas Escobar (as he referred to himself at the time), Steve "Commissioner" Stoute, Dr. Dre and the Trackmasters. Foxy Brown recently made headlines for dissing Lil Kim on a freestyle track last month.
"Y'all rap b*tches are mad rappers, n*gga, I'm a freak and need a hood n*gga to eat it a** backwards," Brown raps. "Put your money up playboy, the pink p*ssy price cost like a couple keys of that fish scale white/Catch me at Marcy at the mall, but motherf*ckers will never see me 'Dancin' With The Stars'/Never, will I embarrass my borough, I'm too thorough/Dark skin b*tches, we here now...Y'all b*tches wanna be me so bad, y'all studied my whole swag."
