Details on what exactly went down have slowly landed online.
Coweta County Sheriff's Office Major James Yarbrough said the Sunday night incident happened at a home in Newnan, about 38 miles southwest of Atlanta. Yarbrough said the unidentified homeowner called police around 9 p.m. to report the comedian "gained entry by breaking into the home, and items were taken from the residence." Yarbrough said jewelry was taken, but did not have further details. (ABC News)
The comedian will likely be released on bond later this afternoon.
A deputy at the Coweta County (about 40 miles south of Atlanta) jail confirmed Williams was being held there and that a magistrate was expected to set bond at an arraignment this afternoon (Mon., Nov. 9). No additional details about the incident have been released. (St. Louis American)
He previously had gun charges against him dropped last summer which stemmed from an arrest last year.
Williams is officially off the hook -- the two weapons possession charges he faced in New York City have been rejected by the D.A. Sources tell us the charges -- filed against Katt back in November after cops allegedly noticed two guns in his car -- were dismissed because the D.A. wouldn't be able to prove them beyond a reasonable doubt at trial. No further details have been released as of now.
