OutKast's Big Boi has shared his reaction to Rihanna's televised interview over the weekend and even retweetted his fans' opinions on Twitter.
From Boi's perspective, Chris Brown's physical attack on Rihanna last February is inexcusable.
"My thing was, people kept sending me messages asking me what I think so I asked 'em what they think," Boi explained in an interview. "I was just posting comments to what people were saying, you know, it was surprising to me how many people were like, 'Maaan,' they were like, 'Maaan.' But hey man, everything is marketing and promotion and whatever, you know. Nothing excuses violence against women at all. Eh man, I just wanted to know what the people were thinking, that's why I just got on the whole social networking thing because you can get the true thoughts and feelings of the people out there that are really consuming the music." The rapper posted a variety of mixed reactions from fans via his Twitter account.

Brown also released a statement following Rihanna's interview addressing how sensitive the incident was to him.
"While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us," he said in the statement. "I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point, I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God." (Rap Radar)
Speaking with reporter Diane Sawyer, RiRi broke down how their February 2009 fight allegedly sparked from a text message.
According to Rihanna, the fight started as they were driving away from a pre-Grammy Awards party and Brown received a text message from another woman. "I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn't tell the truth. And I wouldn't drop it," the singer told Diane Sawyer. "I couldn't take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn't take that I wouldn't drop it. It escalated into him being violent towards me. And it was ugly." (New York Daily News)
