Kanye West has revealed a portion of his upcoming Glow in the Dark book which will reportedly be released this month.
Writing via his blog, Yeezy shared the emotion behind his new 288-page project.
"THIS IS THE PHOTO BOOK FROM THE GLOW IN DARK TOUR," Ye wrote on Friday (October 9). "NABIL CAPTURED THE EXPERIENCE LIKE CRAZY! WHEN I LOOK AT THE PHOTOS IT BRINGS ME RIGHT BACK TO THAT TIME! IT'S VERY EMOTIONAL FOR ME BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO HAVE TO TOUR BUT MY PAIN BROUGHT MY GREATEST CREATION TO DATE. THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY WHO CAME TO THE SHOWS AND EXPERIENCED THIS MOMENT IN TIME WITH ME!" (Kanye West's Blog)
The text will serve as a guide to Ye's international travels.
Tentatively scheduled for an October 2009 release, it will chronicle Kanye's journeys around the world as he tours and hits up fashion parties. Photographer Nabil Elderkin also captured him shopping in Asian malls. The book will come with a USB drive of previously unreleased music and will cost $50. (New York Magazine)
It will also come with additional features aside from the photographs.
Along with on stage and behind-the-scenes shots, the book includes conceptual sketches by West, costume designs, and stage models. The book comes with an audio CD featuring the previously unreleased live instrumentals for "Hey Mama", "Touch the Sky", "Jesus Walks", and "I Wonder", as well as an interview with tour collaborator Spike Jonze. It's due out this month via Rizzoli. (The Amajanese)
The book was originally scheduled to drop last February.
West first met with Rizzoli Publications in May of 2008 to discuss the project, and planned for the initial release of the project in February of 2009 following the conclusion of his tour. But as the concerts were extended, so were the contents of the book. (Fashion Week Daily)
Ye's Glow in the Dark Tour kicked-off around spring 2008.
The tour will be co-headlined by Rihanna, Lupe Fiasco, and N.E.R.D., and will continue on for two months making a stop at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City. (Vibe)
The upcoming book is slated to land in stores this month.
