Dr. Dre has decided to keep fans waiting on the release of his highly-anticipated Detox album and said a lack of motivation has kept it off store shelves.
While keeping details to a minimum, the Doc did promise the project's delivery for 2010.
"[I'm] only [working] on my album that I've been working on for the last ten years, that's it [laughs]," Dre said about what projects he is working on. "The Detox record. Hopefully I'll get it done by the end of this year and you'll hear it next year. Motivation and other things getting in the way, that's it [has caused the delay.]" (ABC News)
The Game emerged over the weekend with an announcement of being in the studio with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg for the long-awaited Detox album.
"CAN U SAY "DETOX" ??? IN THE STUDIO WIT DRE & SNOOP. WE BOUT 2 MAKE ALOT OF PEOPLE MAD. RIDE WIT US OR GET RAN OVER ! AFTERMATH OR DIE !" (The Game's Twitter)
Snoop Dogg also hit up his Twitter page to confirm being in the studio with both artists.
"What's more gangsta than dis?," he wrote. "N the studio right now!!! west coast takeover. this is how the west was one!!!" (Snoop Dogg's Twitter)
Aside from rumored help by Ludacris and T.I., Dre has also reportedly linked with West Coast rapper Slim da Mobster for assistance on the project.
"I'm not even focused on my album right now," Slim said in an interview. "I'm all about his album. 'Cause the better I do on that, the better it is for the situation with my album." After getting the co-signs from the big homies Dre and Eminem, 50 Cent was the next to jump on-board behind the young rapper. Now, Slim Da Mobster is the first artist signed to all three artists, representing G-Unit/Shady/Aftermath. (MTV)
