Former Hot Boys frontman B.G. has recruited T.I., Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Juvenile and more for his upcoming album Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood set to drop next month.
The rapper's "comeback" album will reportedly feature a strong line-up of mainstream acts.
B.G.'s Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood includes production from Scott Storch, KLC, Cool & Dre, Oddz n' Endz, Justice League, Salvage and more. Special guest features include Lil Wayne, T.I., Juvenile, Trey Songz, Yo Gotti, Young Jeezy, Lil Boosie and many more! Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood, is slated for release by E1 Music/Chopper City Records/Atlantic Records on November 24th. (Press Release)
B.G. has also confirmed the project being on deck and described what impact he intends it to have.
"Sometimes I am denied my props but it's cool," says B.G. "I am coming back and taking everything the game owes me. It doesn't owe me anything but respect. I'm still the hottest of the hot. At the end of the day, I just want the respect I truly deserve." (Hip Hop Press)
Upon parting ways from Cash Money in the early 2000's, B.G. has gone forward to drop his own projects.
In 2002 B.G. formed his own label, Chopper City Records (distributed by Koch), and subsequently released Livin' Legend (2003), a bitter album that aired out his beef with Cash Money rappers Brian "Baby" Williams (aka Birdman) and Lil Wayne. A series of Chopper City releases followed, including Life After Cash Money (2004), The Heart of tha Streetz, Vol. 1 (2005), The Heart of tha Streetz, Vol. 2 (2006), and We Got This (2007), the latter a collaborative album featuring his affiliate group, the Chopper City Boyz. The four-man group was whittled down to a duo when their second effort, Life in the Concrete Jungle, arrived in 2008. (All Music)
Aside from the project, Gizzle is also planning a Hot Boys reunion in the near future.
"You can look forward to that [reunion] coming real soon," he said in an interview last June. "Real, real, real soon. We tying up the loose ends of the paperwork right now, and hopefully we'll have that out this year...It's going to be bigger than The Beatles...You know, at one point in time, you couldn't get me to talk about it... You know, people go through things, family go through things, but they sit down, talk it over, be real about it, acknowledge their mistakes and move on." (Vibe)
