World Wrestling Entertainment announcer Jim Ross has responded to reports which claim Kanye West has been offered $10 million to wrestle on television and called the allegations "insane."
Taking away any truth attached to the reports, Ross wrote via his personal blog to address the gossip.
"I even saw on the 'net that it was alleged that WWE had offered Kanye '$10M' to step in the ring and wrestle," he wrote, "which is so outlandish and ridiculous that it's insane." (Headline Planet)
Reports landed online early yesterday (September 21) which suggested Yeezy was in talks with the WWE.
According to reports sent by pro wrestling insiders to MediaTakeOut.com, Vince McMahon and the WWE have offered Kanye close to $10 million to show up at 3 events two television appearances and one pay-per-view event. Word is that if he accepts the offer, Kanye would have to do some light wrestling. And get this, MediaTakeOut.com is hearing that Kanye is seriously considering it. (Daily Fill)
The WWE is known for having an urban appeal and snagging popular entertainers such as boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. for events.
WBC Welterweight Champion "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr. participated in an in-ring situation at the WWE No Way Out pay per view in Las Vegas in 2008 and broke returning giant Big Show's nose in what will be the most replayed piece of videotape going in to WWE's biggest pay per view of the year -- Wrestlemania XXIV on Sunday, March 30 from The Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. Yeezy previously responded to rumors of himself proclaiming to be the new "King of Pop" and said he would no longer answer to gossip via his blog.
"I WAS JUST LISTENING TO WENDY WILLIAMS AND HEARD SOME QUOTE ABOUT ME SAYING I'M THE NEW KING OF POP," Yeezy wrote Friday (July 31). "NOT ONLY DID I NOT SAY THAT, I HAVEN'T SAID ANYTHING. IT MAKES ME FEEL BAD THAT OBVIOUSLY I MADE PEOPLE FEEL THAT I WOULD BE CORNY ENOUGH TO SAY SOMETHING SO WHACK AFTER THE PASSING OF AN IDOL, A LEGEND AND MORE THAN THAT A HUMAN BEING WITH FEELINGS AND FAMILY. IT SCARES ME TO THINK WHAT PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE, WITHOUT EVEN A SOURCE. ANY RANDOM PERSON CAN TYPE SOMETHING ON THE INTERNET AND THEN THE WORLD BELIEVES IT. I DON'T TALK TO PRESS OR DO TV OR DO PROMOTIONS OF ANY SORT. I'VE STOPPED CHASING AND BUYING INTO FAME. FAME IS LIKE CIGARETTES WITH NO SURGEON GENERAL WARNING. IT DESTROYS MOST PEOPLE AS IT DID TO THE TRUE AND ONLY KING OF POP. WE EXPLOIT OURSELVES AND EAT OUR OWN EGOS 'TILL THERE IS NOTHING LEFT. I HAVE A FEELING THAT THIS WON'T BE THE LAST FALSE STATEMENT WITH MY NAME ON IT, BUT THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I DEFEND MYSELF. I'M DONE." (Kanye West's Blog)
