Rap veteran Snoop Dogg has displayed his respect for teen rap star Soulja Boy Tell Em and asked the rapper for forgiveness over his initial prejudice of the emcee's talent.
In addition to supporting Soulja Boy, Snoop said it was vital for all generations of rappers to unite for hip-hop.
"N*ggas was always hatin' on a n*gga when he come out," Snoop said in a video. "They hate on everybody. But when you see a n*gga really know what he doing and it's your craft and you come hit after hit after hit, n*gga can't do nothing but say 'Man, I'm sorry for hating on you, you'se a real n*gga. You hear to stay.' Soulja Boy, we come from two different worlds, we different generations and what not, but we come together right now to unite and show love -- I apologize for all the hate that I had towards Soulja Boy, towards what he was doing in the beginning of his career -- as a man, what I understand what this man is and what else he's doing and how he's doing what he's doing, I support him, wrap my arms around him and love him. And I give him the same love I give my family members. So it's all about bridging the gap and showing love." (Kido Teck Music)
50 Cent recently expressed his admiration for Soulja Boy Tell Em and explained how the rapper's dance-based singles continue to have a major impact.
"I was at [Eminem's] house," 50 said in an interview. "He has a basketball court that doubles as [Eminem's daughter] Hailie's dance studio. That dance studio has the hardwood floors. I watched the kids do the Soulja Boy dance to the song. They're into organized dancing. That was something they were into. They're a world way from where Soulja Boy comes from. But it's translating and it's actually a hit record and he continues to make hit records that work." (MTV)
In addition to receiving props from 50, Soulja Boy is also reportedly working on Kanye West's upcoming album.
"I'm working on Kanye's next album right now," Soulja Boy revealed in an interview. "We working together on production because he makes beats and I make beats. Right now I'm remixing a couple of records for him. I'm actually working on [Kanye's] album while he's working on my album." (Rap Up)
Aside from an upcoming collaboration with Drake, the Young Money newly signed artist recently talked about Soulja Boy's marketing skills.
"Soulja Boy is the smartest artist of our generation, I think period and I think out of anybody," Drake said in an interview earlier this summer. "Whoever it is, whether it's him or his team or the people around him, whoever has the thoughts to do the things he does, is genius and I'm so happy for him." (YouTube)
