Grammy-winning rapper Eminem will make his first MTV awards ceremony appearance since his infamous Bruno stunt at the Movie Awards last June during this weekend's Video Music Awards.

While it is not yet known whether Slim Shady will perform or present an award, he will join a cast of other entertainers confirmed for this year's showcase.

Eminem will be making a special appearance during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 13th, 2009 at 9 PM. Presenters include Megan Fox, Jimmy Fallon, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, 50 Cent, Jack Black, Andy Samberg, Kristin Cavallari, Pete Wenz, Gerard Butler, Tracy Morgan, Adam Brody, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Alexa Chung, Ne-Yo, Nelly Furtado and more. Alicia Keys and Jay-Z will also hit the stage together to perform at the event.

"Disregard my last tweet. Alicia Keys will not be performing her new single at the VMA's. She will be performing with Jay-Z at the VMA's. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys will be preforming together at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 13, 2009." (Alicia Keys Media Twitter)

Both Eminem and Hov will also compete against stiff mainstream emcees in the "Best Hip-Hop Video" category at the ceremony.

MTV's Video Music Awards "Best Hip-Hop Video" nominees: Eminem's "We Made You," Kanye West's "Love Lockdown," Jay-Z's "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)," Asher Roth's "I Love College" and Flo Rida's "Right Round." (Press Release)

Shady previously said his stunt, which made him appear as an unexpected victim to comedian Sacha Cohen's bare bottom, was pre-planned.

"Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards," Em explained. "I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag. I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going 'nuts' so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it. After the ceremony I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about 3 hours. Especially after I saw it on air." (Rap Radar)
