News: Common Speaks On Cousin's Passing, "It Has Definitely Been A Tough Time For Me"

Common has addressed fans' overwhelming support in light of his cousin's fatal motorcycle accident in New York over the weekend.
Writing via his blog, Common reached out to the fans and spoke on his current well-being since the incident.
"Man, I want to thank each and every person who sent their love and condolences about my cousin, Ajile Turner," he wrote on Wednesday (September 23). "It has definitely been a tough time for me and my family, but as GOD always does he assures us that everything will be alright. I believe that your support is just another way of assuring it. I thank you once again. God Bless." (Think Common)
The incident took place Friday (September 18) evening in Brooklyn.
A cousin of the rapper Common died after being knocked off his motorbike in a collision with a bicycle in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, on Friday night, cops said. Ajile Turner, 38, was hit by the bicycle as it turned off Greene Avenue onto Washington Avenue. Turner, who lived on Cumberland Street, had been riding the Kawasaki bike east on Greene Avenue when the collision happened at 10:45 p.m., cops said. (New York Post)
The other victim also died from Friday's crash.
Ajile Turner, 38, was Common's first cousin, heartbroken friends said. Turner, a promoter, died Friday night when his motorcycle collided with a bicyclist in Fort Greene. "Everyone is just really stunned right now," a man who answered the door at Turner's Brooklyn home told the Daily News. Turner's bike crashed with the bicycle on Greene Ave. about 10:45 p.m. Both the bicyclist, Julian Miller, 45, also of Brooklyn, and Turner died at Brooklyn Hospital Center, police said.
