Warren G recently spoke on his fellow 213 group member Nate Dogg's health, since his friend suffered multiple strokes last year which left him partially paralyzed.
Despite his most recent stroke happening last fall, Warren G said the rap crooner is still not fully recovered.
"He's in recovery," G revealed in an interview. "It's kinda slow recovery right now, but he getting better. I've seen him and just praying and hoping that he recover faster so we can do this good music...He's on The G Files. It's a record we did back in the day. Not back, back in the day, but a couple years ago. Me and him had recorded a whole bunch of songs. I got a lot of 'em. Actually we recorded [some of them shortly] before he had the [first] stroke. We recorded about at least six -- maybe eight records, where he just did like hooks and stuff...I'm saving a lot of that stuff for when he recovers too." (Hip Hop DX)
Nate's first stroke took place around January 2008.
Early reports indicated that the 39-year-old emcee, whose real name is Nathaniel Hale, might have had a heart attack Dec. 19, when he was admitted to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. He remained there through the Christmas holiday. But the hip-hopster's manager, Rod McGrew, has clarified that Dogg suffered a stroke that paralyzed the left side of his body and affected his nervous system, including his sense of touch and ability to walk. Thankfully, the stroke did not cause any brain damage or vocal impairment and was confined to "neural muscular issues that have to be jump-started," McGrew said. (E! Online)
He later had a second stroke in September 2008.
Nate (real name: Nathaniel Hale) is hospitalized and is using an assisted-breathing tube -- not because it is required, but because it makes breathing easier for him. Reports that the singer suffered brain damage are untrue, and Nate is currently under sedation. (MTV)
Aside from health issues, Nate Dogg recently had felony charges dropped against him stemming from alleged stalking and criminal threat accusations towards his wife last summer.
California prosecutors on Wednesday (April 15) dropped the charges against the 38-year-old rapper, whose real name is Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, saying the alleged victim has not contacted them. Nate appeared in a Compton court over the summer to plead not guilty to felony charges related to his arrest for allegedly threatening his estranged wife. Nate rolled into the court room in a wheel chair. The one-time go to man for rap hooks was left partially paralyzed after the stroke he suffered in January 2008. (Star Tribune)
