After a Louisiana police officer accused Lil Boosie of attempted bribery in a recent pre-trial hearing related to an arrest last year, SOHH spoke with the rapper to get his side of the story.
According to Boosie, the Baton Rouge officer fabricated the bribe story.
"Officer just lied and he said I told him I pulled out a big [roll] of money," Boosie explained. "They tryna blow it up to turn the judge against me. That's just a lie. I always have a big wad of cash and three credit cards, too." (SOHH)
Earlier this week, the officer accused Boosie of trying to bribe him during last year's arrest.
On top of the possession charges, an officer testified Monday in a pre-trial that the MC tried to bribe him. East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Deputy Nicholas Locicero said that after he pulled him over, Boosie told him, "I'm Boosie, how much do you want?" When Deputy Locicero was asked how he interpreted the statement, he said he believed he was being offered a bribe. His trial is set for September 28. (Hip Hop Wired)
Boosie recently released a video addressing a separate arrest on assault and battery charges and showcasing his confidence in beating the case.
"First of all, I wanna thank all my fans for supporting me through my trials and tribu-hatin'," Boosie said in a video. "I wanna thank y'all for that. People probably saw me on the news, it ain't really that, they gave me a $400,000 bond. I wanna thank all my fans for the support. Shout-out to everybody who helped me down on MySpace and all the haters who were on MySpace, really hatin' on me and wanna see me in situations even though I'm going through a couple of situations right now, I still won't get convicted. They really want me convicted so I can't ride with my tool and all that, but I wanna thank y'all for y'all support. And all my real fans, even my haters my fans. They loved me before they hated. Right haters?" (Trill Entertainment)
He was arrested last fall for alleged possession of drugs, weapons and resisting an officer in his homestate.
Boosie approached deputies in his Dodge Challenger while on the road in East Baton Rouge Parish around 4 p.m. on Wednesday (October 22). Claiming there was a scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle, authorities reportedly approached Boosie who, in turn, refused to step out of his car and then proceeded to drive away. Stopping him from escaping, Boosie was then arrested by deputies and placed into Parish Prison on counts of marijuana possession, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance and attempting to run from law enforcement.
