Jay revealed details about the record's concept in a teaser video yesterday (August 17).
"The song is pretty much about evolution and the progress," Hov said in a teaser video. "You know, you start out as a new artist, you make your way into the game and you climb that mountain and you get to the top and put your flag down. And that's pretty much us putting our flag down. 'This is Roc Nation, pledge your allegiance,' put your flag at the top of the mountain and say we run this town." (YouTube)
A minute-long preview of the clip landed online last Friday (August 14).
Premiering online Friday afternoon is Jay-Z's "Run This Town" music video sneak peek which shows very quick snap shots giving viewers a dungeon-like feel. Jay-Z is shown wearing what appears to be a black hoody and shades alongside Kanye West as additional extras surround them with torches. The preview gives off a militant feel as various people with objects in their hands pump their fists to the air with Rihanna laying the hook in her all-black attire. Additional hints of the video's setting come towards the end as messages read "Where Are We? Underground?" "Angry Touch Wielding Mob," "Jay Runs This Mob Tonight," 'Ye Is Jay's Right Hand Man," "Kanye's Eye?," "Rihanna: Queen Of The Underground" and "Jay's Going Incognito...But Why?" (LuvDC Blogspot)
