News: Jay-Z's "Blueprint 3" Leaks Online Early, "I May Be The Most Bootlegged Artist In History"

Jay-Z's highly-anticipated The Blueprint 3, which features Young Jeezy, Kanye West and Alicia Keys, has landed online nearly two weeks before its retail release and a day before the rap mogul planned to stream the entire project for free.
The long-awaited project stormed onto blogs and download websites Monday (August 31) which led to various unofficial reviews.
"Jay-Z's new album Blueprint III has leaked online," blogger Gyant wrote today. "And its AMAZING. I can't even believe how great a masterpiece it is. Writing a review on it now. writing feverishly. Review below. And there I was about to get into yet another entertainment blog when I felt a twinge up my spine, and I knew instantly that Jay-z's new Blueprint III album had leaked on to the net. After a few simple google clicks I found the hip-hop pot of gold. And though I won't be posting the link[s] to any illegal downloads, I can give you all review from a music lover's point of view." Jay later shared his reaction to the unauthorized leaks.
"I may be the most bootlegged artist in history," he said in an interview after learning the news. "It's a preview. I'm excited for people to hear the album. I'm very proud of the work I've down, so enjoy it...My pager is actually ringing right now, so people are probably calling me and telling me they pretty much like it. I can tell by the way my pager rings if a song is good or not. It's really going crazy right now." (MTV)
Hov has also teamed with music retailer Rhapsody and MTV to debut a stream-only version of his album beginning tomorrow.
Rhapsody and MTV are the exclusive places to hear the new Jay-Z album, The Blueprint 3, starting September 1, nearly two weeks prior to official release date -- Rhapsody will be the exclusive retailer for The Blueprint 3 from September 8-10, prior to official September 11 release date -- Two exclusive bonus tracks will be available from Rhapsody on September 8 -- Rhapsody collaborates with Jay-Z on TV advertisements promoting the new album -- Rhapsody to premiere a 60-second customized Jay-Z advertisement in 2009 MTV VMAs. The rapper's wife, Beyonce Knowles, previously teamed with MySpace Music to allow fans to hear her I Am...Sasha Fierce, which has now sold over two million copies, a week before it landed in stores last November
