Jadakiss' Police arrested two men on multiple felony charges, after they raided Jadakiss' Yonkers, New York apartment and found large amounts of heroin and marijuana.
According to police, multiple amounts of narcotics were discovered in the rapper's waterfront home.
Two city men were arrested on drug charges, and officers are trying to determine why 6[0xff] pounds of marijuana, 5 grams of heroin and a large stash of cash were found in rapper Jadakiss' waterfront apartment, police said yesterday (August 24). Jadakiss, the 34-year-old Yonkers rapper, "is not wanted at this time," Lt. Joseph Monaco said. Arrested were Alberto Lajara, 25, of 108 Smart Ave. and Gabriel R. Henriquez, 39, of 102 Lake Ave. (Lower Hudson News)
The incident took place Friday (August 21) morning.
Sean Fogarty and Edward Murphy were driving by the apartment located at 1 Van der Donk St. in Yonkers, when they noticed a car parked on the sidewalk. Upon approaching the vehicle, which was driven by Lajara, officers smelled marijuana and later uncovered a bag containing the drug in the front of the car. Police also questioned Henriquez, who was a passenger in the car and was also in possession of the keys to Jadakiss' apartment. While being questioned, the 39-year-old became nervous and attempted to run from police before being apprehended. After learning that Henriquez was coming from the apartment, authorities obtained a search warrant for the residency, where they found both the drugs and cash. (The Boom Box)
Both men are reportedly in police custody and have been slapped with criminal charges.
After further questioning and a small chase, the suspects were apprehended and it was found out that that Henriquez had a room inside the apartment although it seems highly unlikely that Jadakiss used the apartment as his primary residence. Both men are facing criminal actions in response to the act they allegedly committed with Lajara being brought up on fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct charges and Henriquez staring down felonious second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and second-degree assault as well as second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Aside from legal issues, the Ruff Ryders reunion has begun to take further shape as the new "Who's Real" remix video teaser featuring Swizz Beatz, DMX, Eve, Jadakiss and others landed online last week.
Originally a Jadakiss solo hit (produced by Swizz Beatz) from his most recent album The Last Kiss, the song's remix and accompanying video reunite the entire Ruff Ryders crew, Jadakiss, Swizz, DMX, Styles P, Sheek Louch, Drag-On, Eve and Murda Mook. The video's concept, overseen by Ruff Ryders co-founder and CEO Joaquin "Waah" Dean, pays homage to the collective street spirit the Ruff Ryders pioneered in the late 1990s. The video was shot in different locations, with DMX and Swizz on set in Arizona due to X's current travel restrictions, and the rest of the crew filmed in New York City. (Dr Jay's)
