Fabolous recently reached out to rap newcomer Drake after his unexpected on-stage collapse during the Young Money Presents: America's Most Wanted tour last week.
Appearing on the "Alexa Chung" show yesterday (August 5), F-a-b-o said he made sure to extend his hand out to the rapper during the recovery process.
"I have [spoken with him since the injury,]" Fab told television personality Alexa Chung. "I sent him some condolences and told him to watch his step, you know? He says he's doing good and I just wanted to reach out, you know, he's a cool dude. He's got bad legs though." ("Alexa Chung")
Fab previously spoke on his "Throw It in the Bag" remix with Drizzy.
"Me and Drake, we just met each other in passing on the road," Fab explained in an interview. "We kicked it a few times. We kept ending up in the same circles. Eventually we figured out we wanted to work. I had the remix. I had the beat for a minute...I also didn't just want to do the regular remix, have the same typical remix that everybody is doing where they keep the same beat and get the select few MCs. Drake was new...everybody got wind of Drake behind the success of his mixtape and 'Best I Ever Had.' I figured that would an interesting move. I reached out and he was like, 'Yeah.' I just sent it to him." (MTV)
Days after his collapse, Drizzy wrote to fans via his personal blog and updated them on his health.
"This bottle of Opus One is low but my spirits are high my friends," Drake wrote. "I am about 2 hours away from Toronto, CA where I will be spending the next chunk of time recovering from a surgery that I now must have. I embarked on this tour with a torn ACL, MCL, and LCL and due to the events that happened the other night lord only knows what other damage I have done. On the bright side I will begin the reflecting and soul searching that its going to take to make this album and my outfit on the night I fell was crack. I will forever push myself beyond the limits despite advice and recommendations given because even with this new found success I am still the kid who wanted this more than anything in the world." While not officially back on the tour, Drake did, however, perform in Toronto this week.
"Look, I wanna say one thing," Drizzy told the crowd. "Before every show I've ever seen this man do, the greatest entertainer I'll ever witness. Make some noise for Lil Wayne. Now listen up, before every show he does, he tells the crowd to make some noise for what they've created. My man, I just wanna shake your hand for what you do..." (YouTube)
