News: Eminem's Brother Slapped W/ Probation Over Drunk Driving, Faces 100 Days In Jail

Nathan "Kane" Mathers, the brother of Eminem, has reportedly been slapped with 18 months of probation and more than $1,000 in fines after accepting a drunk driving plea deal late last month.

The decision was made in court Wednesday (August 26) afternoon.

A 41-A District Court judge ruled Nathan Mathers, 23, will pay $1,000 in fines and costs by Friday or face 100 days in jail on his conviction of operating while visibly impaired, second offense. Other terms of the sentence include 18 months reporting probation, attendance of an outpatient program for drugs and alcohol, tether monitoring for alcohol consumption and 100 hours community service, court officials said. He previously pleaded guilty to the drunk driving charges in late July.

The younger brother of rapper Eminem has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in a drunken driving case in Macomb County. Twenty-three-year-old Nathan Mathers avoided a bench trial Thursday in district court in Shelby Township by agreeing to plead guilty to operating while impaired, second offense, at his Aug. 26 sentencing. Despite his guilty plea, the rapper will also had his license revoked.

Under the terms of the agreement, Mathers loses his license with it being revoked and likely be ordered to community service and mandatory alcohol screenings. A sentencing is set for Aug. 26 before visiting Judge Matthew Rumora. Mathers attorney Cecil D. St. Pierre said his client is fitted with a GPS tether and has been alcohol three for almost three months "He's abided by all (the court's) orders up until this point," St. Pierre said. Mathers was originally arrested for drunk driving in Michigan last April.

Mathers was taken by police after driving under the influence in the Detroit suburb of MAComb Township. Police stopped Nate Mathers, who raps under the alias Nate Kane, when he failed to yield for an ambulance. (Hollyscoop)
