Drake re-joined Lil Wayne's "America's Most Wanted" tour last night (August 4) in Canada to show fans how he has been holding up since collapsing on-stage last week.
Speaking to fans and later walking off with a cane, Drake also paid homage to the energy Lil Wayne brings out for his shows.
"Look, I wanna say one thing," Drizzy told the crowd. "Before every show I've ever seen this man do, the greatest entertainer I'll ever witness. Make some noise for Lil Wayne. Now listen up, before every show he does, he tells the crowd to make some noise for what they've created. My man, I just wanna shake your hand for what you do..." (YouTube)
Fans attending the show including Drake fansite founder Karla Moy reported on the rapper's presence late Tuesday night.
"Lil Wayne, Young Money, Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy, Jeremih, Pleasure P: Tonight in Toronto at the Molson Ampitheatre," she wrote via Twitter. "P.S. Drake IS performing right now with Wayne. But only for tonight. Sucks to be you if you not in Toronto. Bahahaha :) ...Drake, Trey Songz & Young Money iina di biiilllllding." (HustleGrl)
Young Money's Nicki Minaj recently shared her reaction to Drake's injury.
"I had to watch him get carried out on a stretcher," Nicki explained in an interview. "I grabbed and shut his hands like 'You'll be okay baby.' He's fine, he's not gonna be here today, he has to get surgery. At the end of the day, his physical well-being is more important...People keep asking me that, I'm officially on the tour. I've been on the tour since day one. There might be a couple days I don't just because I have personal obligations but I'm on the tour. I can't wait to see everybody come out and have fun." Drake wrote to fans about his injury in a blog posting last Sunday (August 2) and confirmed his fall would keep him sidelined for the time being.
"This bottle of Opus One is low but my spirits are high my friends," Drake wrote. "I am about 2 hours away from Toronto, CA where I will be spending the next chunk of time recovering from a surgery that I now must have. I embarked on this tour with a torn ACL, MCL, and LCL and due to the events that happened the other night lord only knows what other damage I have done. On the bright side I will begin the reflecting and soul searching that its going to take to make this album and my outfit on the night I fell was crack. I will forever push myself beyond the limits despite advice and recommendations given because even with this new found success I am still the kid who wanted this more than anything in the world."
