Details surrounding the unexpected death of Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein have landed online with police reports saying crack cocaine was found in his New York City apartment.
According to authorities, DJ AM was also found with prescription drugs throughout his home.
The 36 year-old ex-fiance of Nicole Richie, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, was discovered in bed wearing only sweatpants at his $2 million SoHo pad and a near-empty bag of crack stuck to his chest, sources said. Investigators found a glass crack pipe in his bedroom and at least seven bottles of prescription drugs on his kitchen counter, including the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, sources said. Goldstein was on his stomach with the bag of crack underneath him, suggesting he rolled on top of it before he died, a source said. (New York Daily News)
Despite speculation, an official autopsy has not yet revealed Goldstein's cause of death.
"The cause of death was inconclusive because we need to do additional testing," New York City Medical Examiner spokesperson Ellen Borakove said. "The testing would include toxicology and tissue testing. We don't expect any results for several weeks...It's under investigation and when the investigation is complete we will have a cause of death and a manner of death." (People Magazine)
