Grammy-nominated rapper 50 Cent recently spoke on his inability to snag a trophy at most award ceremonies and why his body of work will likely earn him full recognition later in his career.

Comparing his financial success to awards, Fif broke down why he does not worry about winning a trophy unlike other artists like Kanye West and Jay-Z.

"I made a mistake," Fif said recently in New York City. "Early on [in my career], I said, 'They'll get the trophy, I'll get the checks.' That's because I wasn't receiving the acknowledgment based on the aggressive content I was putting out. I've been nominated for 16 Grammy awards and still ain't got no trophies. Largest debut in hip-hop to date -- they just ignored it when it was time to give the trophies out. So I just started saying, 'They can have the trophies and I'll have the checks.' That didn't mean that I didn't have love for the actual art form. But to give a basic answer that people would understand, I would be secure with my life, I'll continue make music, but I won't be in front of them and get recognized. I'll get a lifetime-achievement award after based on my full body of work. At that point, it'll be too much for them to ignore." (MTV)

Despite not securing a Grammy, Fif has won awards in the past, including a 2003 MTV Video Music Awards trophy.

Rapper 50 Cent won the Best New Artist Moon Man for "In Da Club," marking the beginning of a successful music/movie/literary/videogame/clothing/flavored water career. Later, 50 performed "P.I.M.P." with Snoop Dogg's assistance. (MTV's VMA's 2003)

He has also maintained a presence both as a presenter and performer at awards shows such as last winter's Spike Awards.

50 Cent will help excite Spike TV's sixth annual "Video Game Awards" this year by performing at the California ceremony. The rapper-turned-actor has been billed to perform his new hit single "Get Up" at the Culver City venue in December 2008 and also showcase exclusive footage from his highly-anticipated game 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand, set to drop in 2009. In preparation for his upcoming Before I Self Destruct album, Fif has kept busy with the release of multiple mixtapes.

"I'm pressing the re-start button man," Fif said in an interview. "I need a record deal, anybody that'll sign me? We gonna go to the second mixtape, the next mixtape will be out July 3rd, it's called Forever King, I'll put another one out right after. War Angel, that's out now. I don't care, I just wanna make music. Sometimes I get in pocket, where I'm in a good space creatively and I can write anything. I wrote four records just last night. Like I've been up for almost 43 hours." (Radio Planet TV)

Before I Self Destruct is scheduled to land in stores Tuesday, September 28th.
