Young Jeezy recently updated fans on the progress of his forthcoming Thug Motivation 103 album and announced labelmate Kanye West being tagged along for the project.
In addition to speaking on the album, Jeezy also said he would remain on his mixtape hustle and co-signed rap newcomer Drake.
"Mixtapes, you know, I got a few coming out but I'm really more focused on this album," Jeezy said in an interview. "I wanna change the way people think about stuff so I'm focused this album. The mixtapes, that's gonna do what it do, but I want the album to be like, when you get it, 'Ah, that's crazy.' I'm about 75 percent [done.] I wanna work with a couple more people and that's about it. Kanye did about maybe six, seven joints on there...To be honest with you, I kinda like what Drake's doing." He also updated fans on the overall sound and spoke about his upcoming tour alongside Lil Wayne earlier this month.
"Thug Motivation 103 -- I'm going back and picking up a little where I left off," he said in an interview. "Right now, people having a lot of money problems, but it ain't recession-wise -- it's hustlin'-wise. It ain't what you got, it's what you keep. I know it because I really been through this. I been out there. I'mma help cats through this. So by the time Thug Motivation 103 is over with, we gonna be getting money again...Me and Wayne decided to go out together. It's definitely gonna be different. I'm used to going out on a different type of tour, but it's gonna be different. Everybody loves Wayne. Even little kids 3 years old love Wayne. But I'mma take Thug Motivation there too." (MTV)
The "Snowman" previously addressed multiple projects he has on deck.
"The album, n*ggas it's on the way," he promised in an interview last month. "Don't even know when that motherf*cker is dropping, but it's on the way. The third Motivation: 103, you know? I got the USDA album about to drop...The mixtape just dropped, Trappin' Ain't Dead, all you motherf*ckers are just scared and that's why I'm out here and that's why I'm gonna ride to the end." After an opening act, Drake will perform, followed by Soulja Boy and Young Jeezy's sets with Lil Wayne closing out the show. The tour will kick off on July 27, 2009 at the Toyota Pavillion in Scranton, Pennsylvania and end on August 23, 2009 at the Superpages.com Center in Dallas, Texas. (The Urban Daily)
