Soulja Boy Tell Em has announced plans to release an upcoming collaboration record with rap newcomer Drake.
While not revealing the song's title or content, Soulja Boy said fans could expect a forthcoming new song featuring Drizzy.
"Drake is a real dude," Soulja Boy said in an interview. "Most rappers, they don't like to give the other rappers props. They be hating on the next man and he showed me my respect. Drake is a good artist. I just got through chopping it up with him before [Lil] Wayne went on stage. We got a song coming too. We've been in the studio. I got the studio bus actually on the road, the whole tour. So I'm recording my third album, The DeAndre Way, it drops November. I'm recording my album while we're on tour. So y'all can look out for the Soulja Boy [and] Drake collaboration." (97 BHT)
Drake recently gave the young rapper props for his impact within music.
"Soulja Boy is the smartest artist of our generation, I think period and I think out of anybody," he said in an interview earlier this year. "Whoever it is, whether it's him or his team or the people around him, whoever has the thoughts to do the things he does, is genius and I'm so happy for him." (YouTube)
Soulja Boy previously gave an update on his aim for The DeAndre Way.
"I done worked with everybody that I wanna work with so far," Soulja Boy said in an interview last month. "But going into my third album, I already got Lil Wayne on deck. I just hollered at Kanye when I was in Cali[fornia]. Working with Snoop Dogg. Me and Kanye, it's just an honor to work with him. He done been in the game so many years even for him to be under Jay-Z. And if I get a chance to work with Jay-Z and Kanye that'd be crazy, way out on another level." (Miss Info)
Both Soulja Boy and Drake are on the road for Young Money's America Most Wanted tour.
The Young Money Presents: America's Most Wanted Music Festival will be the follow up to Lil Wayne's very successful "I Am Music Tour" playing a total of 47 arena dates across the US. After an opening act, Drake will perform, followed by Soulja Boy and Young Jeezy's sets with Lil Wayne closing out the show. The tour will kick off on July 27, 2009 at the Toyota Pavillion in Scranton, Pennsylvania and end on August 23, 2009 at the Superpages.com Center in Dallas, Texas. (The Urban Daily)
