The Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon recently gave an update on his long-awaited Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 album and hinted at the possibility of releasing more projects before the end of 2009.

Confirming the album has been pushed back a month, the "Chef" spoke on what he has been up to with the project.

"Peace yall just seen the last visual of the Walk wit me video and its classic," he wrote via Twitter yesterday (July 6). "will be giving ya a teaser real soon! In the booth just recording some new records ya know i might drop 3lps before this yrs out i got to catch up But its bout OB4CL2 RIGHT NOW! Im just putting myself back where i belong! And that on Top! Yea but who heard bout that Mef, GHOST & RAE ALBUM, wht ya think bout that! ... Sept 8, the album will be out, but im on my way to nyc im shooting 2 more videos this week yall im doing this album for the fans!" (Raekwon's Twitter)

The Wu front runner previously said his album would drop in August.

"The only collateral I can give you is my word," he said in an interview. "I'm a man of my word. I know a lot of people is doubting this project is even existing. Y'all helped me eat for years -- I would never play with y'all. That's why I been giving ya'll free music. I look at it like you said, 'Yo, you got me waiting, can I get a f*cking soda? Can I get a juice? Can I get a f*cking sandwich?' And that's my way of giving back. But I do have to make sure that my I's is dotted and my T's is crossed. August 11 is official. That's the final destination for the album. Get ready." (NY Mag)

Speaking on his departure from Aftermath, Rae justified his move to EMI for the project's release earlier this year.

"I think EMI just recognized that I'm a veteran in the game and they recognize the value in [Only Built For Cuban Linx 2] and at the same time, they believe in me," Rae said in an interview. "They believe Rae still got the potential to stand next to these new artists and really do his thing. They recognize that I'm a legend and that I did a lot of sh*t for hip-hop. So at the end of the day they came to the table with a sweet deal that I couldn't deny as well as being real excited about working with me. They was listening to me and hearing me out and respecting that I'm really trying to own my masters right now...They felt like I deserved it though and they made a brother smile." (Hip Hop Game)

He announced his new record deal last March.

"The project is viscous right now," Raekwon said in an interview. "The album is done. I just closed my deal...I just signed with EMI...That's real news, that's real talk. I just signed off yesterday, you know what I mean. Made everything official. EMI is the home right now. They the ones that's paying me. They gave me a nice piece of what I needed...At the end of the day, it's gonna be raw hip-hop." (On-Air Idiots Show)

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 is scheduled to hit stores Tuesday, September 8th via EMI.
