Rap newcomer Nicki Minaj recently spoke on her respect for fellow New York rapper Foxy Brown and addressed the emcee's publicized sex appeal.
Known for her sex-laced hard rhymes herself, footage of an interview from earlier this summer landed online and featured Nicki making a sexual advance towards Foxy.
"She always made me feel like, 'I like you,' and that's big coming from her," Nicki said alongside Foxy. "In my situation with [Lil] Wayne, Foxy was one of the first people who said 'Do that sh*t' like she compared it to Jay-Z and herself at the time. She said f*ck with Wayne...Want a menage? No, I'ma turn Foxy Brown out. Y'all ain't ever heard Foxy on no crazy sh*t. I'ma turn her out. She the baddest b*tch in the game right now, she's looking real succulent, real good right now. She's turning me on right now. Nah [laughs] but I'ma put it on Foxy, but yeah, shout-out to her for being a real b*tch and to all y'all fake b*tches out there, please, no h*mo." (The Come Up)
Nicki's sex appeal caught the eye of Kanye West associate Amber Rose earlier this year.
"YOOOO!!!!! @nickiminaj is f**kin stunning in person I couldn't stop staring at her!!!! I would sooooo DO her. F**k it I can't even lie!!!!" (Amber Rose's Twitter)
The Young Money emcee spoke with SOHH last month about her reaction to Rose's Twitter comment.
"I was very shocked," Nicki revealed. "It was funny. She said it to me when we met in person so I was like, 'Whoa she's dead serious 'cause she put it on Twitter.' I was just laughing like everybody else probably. I had to take it in a little bit... pause. She's a dope girl. She's real funny. She just took an interest to me. I guess that's a good thing when a bad b*tch likes you, you know?" (SOHH)
She has also caught the eye of other female emcees like Trina for her rapping skills.
"It gets me because I know there are so many talented female MCs out there," she explained in an interview. "There's Lil Kim, Missy, Eve and all these beautiful women. They have all made great albums in the past. I just wish we had the same type of relationship as the guys. I think as women we are little more emotional; we have egos. That's what's making female rap smaller and smaller. After so long you just get tired of wishing about stuff. One of my favorite records of all time is Lil Kim's 'Ladies' Night.' Mostly every female that was in the game was in that video. I think that's what we are missing. That unity. But the great thing is there are other girls coming up like Nicki Minaj. We have to show that women are relevant in hip hop. We have a voice. We do have things to say. But more importantly women need other women to make them feel strong. I come from a family of all women, so that's the strength that I get." (Vibe)
