Joe Budden recently weighed in on Nas' publicized child support ruling and expressed his reaction to the rapper having to pay over $40,000 a month to Kelis.
While initially joking about what he would do if given the same situation, Joey also acknowledged not supporting father's who do not look after their family.
"That's ludicrous," Joey said about Nas' child support payments being over $40,000. "If I had to pay $50,000 a month, I might be a deadbeat. [laugh] How you say some sh*t like that, I'm joking, I'm joking. I definitely don't support or condone dead beats. That's a little nuts. That's a lot...That's kinda crazy, I don't know. But it's none of my business. No comment. Ohhh...No Comment Thug is back." (DDot Omen)
Method Man recently gave a more verbal outlook on men paying for spousal finances.
"Not for nothing, and I'm not knocking, I don't know the ins and outs of their relationship but as far as speaking for men in general, ladies come on, y'all know that's some bullsh*t," Mef added. "Ladies, let's be real and sh*t, for real for real, all you did was f*ck your man. That money right there, a kid don't need that much money to survive and sh*t. You trying to maintain your lifestyle. I wanna see the shoe on the other foot. That sh*t is ridiculous man because then you got a lot of chicks and that's not all of them, but there are some chicks out there striving to get [that]...The court system is geared more towards the women than the men." The ruling was made in Kelis' favor last Thursday (July 23) afternoon.
A day after welcoming a baby boy, the "Milkshake" singer, 29, was awarded nearly $44,000 in monthly support from her ex Nas at a hearing Thursday. He initially asked a court to deny Kelis any spousal support and then proposed paying Kelis a one-time payment of $20,000 until the judge could settle on an appropriate spousal and child support amount at a later hearing. But on Thursday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Louis Meisinger rejected the offer, stating that new mom Kelis needed more money per month to accommodate her new lifestyle. (Us Magazine)
Nas' child support payments will reportedly be divided between Kelis and expenses for their newborn, Knight.
Meisinger issued the order at a Thursday hearing. Neither Nas, whose full name is Nasir Jones, nor Kelis, whose full name is Kelis Rogers, attended Thursday's hearing. Rogers will receive $30,471 in spousal support per month; the couple's son will receive $9,027, according to the court records. (Associated Press)
