News: Eminem's Brother Cops Plea Deal In Drunk Driving Case

Nathan "Kane" Mathers, the brother of Eminem, has reportedly pleaded guilty to drunk driving charges.
Mathers' plea agreement helped him avoid temporary time behind bars until he is due back in court for sentencing.
The younger brother of rapper Eminem has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in a drunken driving case in Macomb County. Twenty-three-year-old Nathan Mathers avoided a bench trial Thursday in district court in Shelby Township by agreeing to plead guilty to operating while impaired, second offense, at his Aug. 26 sentencing. Despite his guilty plea, the rapper will also have his license revoked.
Under the terms of the agreement, Mathers loses his license with it being revoked and likely be ordered to community service and mandatory alcohol screenings. A sentencing is set for Aug. 26 before visiting Judge Matthew Rumora. Mathers attorney Cecil D. St. Pierre said his client is fitted with a GPS tether and has been alcohol three for almost three months "He's abided by all (the court's) orders up until this point," St. Pierre said. He was arrested for drunk driving in Michigan last April.
Mathers was taken by police after driving under the influence in the Detroit suburb of MAComb Township. Police stopped Nate Mathers, who raps under the alias Nate Kane, when he failed to yield for an ambulance. (Hollyscoop)
Police were reportedly tipped of by the smell of alcohol in his vehicle.
When cops approached the car, officers say they "immediately smelled intoxicants." Mathers was given a field sobriety test -- which he failed -- and was immediately arrested. (TMZ)
Mathers is due back in court August 26th.
