EA's announcement was released this week and placed emphasis on focusing the spotlight upon mainstream artists.

"Each EA Sports game is unique to every gamer that picks up the controller, we wanted to make sure the music matched each of those unique experiences," said Steve Schnur, Electronic Arts' Worldwide Executive for Music and Marketing. "With the big songs and huge bands in Madden NFL, bringing back the soul of the game to NBA Live, tapping into the hard hitting metal tracks of NHL and the international flavor of FIFA, this year's EA Sports soundtrack line up aligns with each of the game's unique styles."
