Rick Ross recently toned down his past taunts towards Eminem, even admitting to being a fan, but he said the rapper's return from a five-year hiatus has delivered less than impressive results.
Aside from his take on Em's music, Ross also said his rap beef with 50 Cent has grown old.
"I'm not impressed with the music," Ross said of Em. "I'm still a fan of his, but I'm just not impressed with the music I'm hearing," Rick said. "But hopefully, you know, I'ma buy his album when it come out, if it don't disappoint me too bad. You know, we'll see...I done put out a number one album, and you know, I finished those guys. G-Unit was dropped from Interscope. They still can't dress, they're monkeys, but that'll never change...Where I come from, you need AK-47s to go far. Anything short of that, we'll label you a girl, kick you in the butt and send you home, and that's pretty much what I did." (Much Music)
Ross recently caught heat after labeling Slim Shady a "honkey" due to his Caucasian background.
"N*ggas cut throat," he declared in a recent video. "You know now they saying 'monkey' could be black-on-black racial, keep saying monkey. So the only way I can fix that, Eminem, you're a monkey. He's really a honkey, but that's racial. You's a monkey, you n*ggas monkeys...'Wood Face,' it's no longer Curly, now you're Wood Face. Eh, Whoo Kid, I found out you're making 300 a show, my deejay makes way more than you. You're nobody. Do me the biggest favor, hit me up." (Spiff TV)
He previously said he would be willing to battle Em due to his "victory" over 50.
"I mean, I'm a fan of Eminem," he said in an interview. "I'm a fan first and foremost. But after defeating Curly, my confidence is at an all-time high. Maybe before I wouldn't have challenged him, but I'm contemplating it now. The game is commending me for my victory. That's all I wanted to do was ... punish the opposition. I think I've done a great job and I'm gonna continue to do that. I think he's a bigger and better artist than what Curly is. So if I was l ooking to fulfill that excitement or that rush, that's who I have to address." (MTV)
The Miami rapper's words as of lately have caught the attention of G-Unit's Lloyd Banks.
"You got fat, corny n*ggas like Rick Ross, it's just so easy to actually make records," Banks explained in an interview. "He's gotta ride his wave as long as he can. You know, the funny part, he's always talking about his success and sh*t that he did, he need to check my record-selling background. This the sh*t that be killing me, shut up n*gga. I got the diamond tester too, I'm gonna have it at the next awards show too...[His album signing in New York,] it was like minus two people there. That n*gga had barricades lined up like he Justin Timberlake or something. Who the f*ck is you, n*gga...That n*gga's not even half of what I am [lyrically.] That n*gga nowhere near where I'm at, man. You crazy? I'm on another planet somewhere, better get the f*ck outta here with that sh*t." (Radio Planet TV)[Go here to see a complete rundown of the beef between 50 Cent and Rick Ross]
