In this week's Pulse Report the streets are buzzing about 50 Cent crowning Eminem the "greatest rapper," Jay-Z making an anti auto-tunes album, Drake admitting that Kanye West fathered his style, T.I. delivering some parting shots before he goes to prison, and Charles Hamilton going to couples counseling with his lady.

1. Marshall Still Matters
When Eminem announced his return to hip-hop, many wondered if he still had it. Could he be what he once was, the biggest rap star on the planet. Well, Em answered that question to the tune of 608,200 copies of his Relapse album sold. Claiming the #1 album in the country for the fourth time in his career. Though the numbers make Relapse the top-selling debut of the year, they fall short of Lil Wayne's a million sold of the Carter 3. Hence one could make the argument that Em is not what he once was. 50 Cent on the other hand would argue otherwise. As for as 50 is concerned Em is the "greatest rapper" ever. Fif made that claim during an appearance alongside Em on BET's 106 & Park. [Watch Here]
Expressing his undying loyalty to Em, Fif readily admitted to taking a backseat to Em and Dr. Dre.
"One of the most important portions of our relationships is us understanding our positions. I'm like King Kong when I'm by myself, and when [me, Em and Dre] come back, come together, I'm actually the smallest person in our circle. I get a chance to be down to earth."
Em responded in kind.
"I think the best thing about the combination of me, 50 and Dre is that we take criticism from each other, we listen to input. We're always trying to do better."
Alright, alright, we get it! You guys are BFFs for life. I don't think I've ever seen 50 swoon over Em like that before. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion when it comes to the "greatest rapper ever" debate and I think Eminem is in the Top 10, but not #1 he's not. In fact I want ya'll to settle an ongoing debate for me. Is Lil Wayne a better rapper than Eminem? I choose Em, but I've heard a lot of cases for Wayne.
2. Tuning 'Em Out
It's not quite Che Guevara fighting against imperialism, but Jay-Z is raging against the machine by putting a ban on auto-tunes for his Blueprint 3 album. The album's producer Kanye West revealed to MTV news that Jay has removed all auto-tune tracks from the project as away to take a stand.
"We actually removed all the songs with auto-tunes from the album. To make the point that this is an anti auto-tune album."
Good to see Jay take a stand on the issue, but it might be too late. Plus I doubt it's going to make a difference in the minds of fans who don't expect to hear Jay doing auto-tunes. This would probably mean more if Wanye or T-Pain put a ban on auto-tunes.
3. I Love You, Man
Drake, hip-hop's next big superstar, had a coming out party in New York this week and he drew some of the genre's biggest names. Everyone from icons like MC Lyte, to bigwig execs like Lyor Cohen came out to see the guy who has sparked bidding wars for his talents. Even Kanye West came out to bare witness to Drake's dopeness. And having Yezzy in the building was sort of a big deal for Drake. The rapper/singer told MTV news that he credits Kanye as the dude that has had the most influence on his style. [Watch Here]
"Before I ever got the chance to meet him, Kanye West shaped a lot of what I do, as far as music goes. We always, always, always took the time to listen to Kanye's music and appreciate it beyond. We searched the samples and we find out where his inspiration came from, because he has one of the best ears in music, period. He knows how to recognize great music that's not his. He knows how to utilize great sounds and great music. So before I met him, I had the utmost respect for Kanye West. I'd even go as far as to say he's the most influential person as far as a musician that I'd ever had in my life."
I knew I heard some Ye in his style the minute I heard him. This right here makes a strong case for Kanye in the best rapper debate. Anytime you father a new generation of rappers, as Jay-Z and Nas did in their prime, you must be counted as one of the great ones. Five years ago, who would have thought that Kanye West would be the father of a new generation?
4. Prison Break
T.I. has officially started serving his year and a day at a federal prison in Forrest City, Arkansas. The Atlanta rapper turned himself in on Tuesday, but before he went in, he held a farewell concert in his hometown. During he concert he got some things off his chest. He addressed the haters you took pleasure in seeing him in trouble. He even addressed the snitching issue again. [Watch Here]
"Nigga when you the muthafuckin' boss who else is it to tell on?"
Tip is surely going to be missed, but the game goes on. Which got me to thinking about the Top 5 things that will be happen in hip-hop while T.I. is away.
1. Lil Wayne, Kanye, Drake > Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Eminen
2. Swagger will no longer be a part of hip-hop vernacular.
3. DMX and Mase will sign Rick Ross to their hip-hop/gospel label.
4. Chris Brown and Charles Hamilton will release a Best of Both Worlds album, Monster Vs. Alien.
5. Alfa Mega will be the first rapper to ever release an album from the witness protection program, Tell It Like It Is.
5. Working It Out
Like any couple that is experiencing relationship issues that lead to the man getting chin- checked by his lady, Charles Hamilton and his boo Briana have gone to counseling. The two posted their online counseling session on the Internet for all to see, just like the punch heard round the world. [Watch Here]
Here's Briana's advice to Charlie
"Maybe you should go to media training. Like I set up for you, cuz people are saying 'if you hit a girl, you're Chris Brown. If you don't, you're Charles Hamilton."
You better do what she says lil homie, or else. Who needs security when your lady regulates like this. Honesty though, these two need to keep their business behind closed doors. It's T.M.I!
