Dr. Dre's long-awaited Detox release is beginning to take shape as the producer is seen in a new Dr. Pepper commercial offering fans a short snippet of a track from the album.

While only a few seconds, the Doc is seen on an upcoming television spot hyping anticipation.

The rap impresario will appear in an ad for a major soda company -- one that has some experience with long-awaited albums that can never possibly live up to your expectations. The clip will start airing on national television June 1. The ad features a bit of Detox, but don't get too excited. It's only about eight seconds of a slow groove, and the crowd seems more interested in getting down with the soda than Dr. Dre. You can view the ad below, but we suggest just waiting until Detox sees release, so you won't forever associate the long-awaited album with some soda pop. It will supposedly be out by the end of 2009. (Los Angeles Times)

Dre is also seen on the commercial promoting his signature headphones.

"Scientific test prove when you drink Dr. Pepper slow, the 23 flavors taste even better. For me, slow always produces a hit," Dr. Dre says in the commercial, before stepping behind a DJ booth, putting on a pair of his own signature "Beats" headphones and slowing down the sped-up techno song that's playing by placing a can of Dr. Pepper over the record. The new track comes on, the party goes wild and Dre states "Slower is better -- trust me, I'm a doctor." Other spots in the campaign feature Dr. J, "Dr. Frasier Crane" and Gene Simmons (aka "Doctor Love"). (Billboard)

Eminem recently said Dre's work on Relapse pushed the Doc's album back.

"With Dre, Dre's got a lot of material for this record," Em revealed in an interview. "And he's recorded a lot of material. I think that more so than anything, before his album, he basically put aside, he was working on his record for a good time period, I would say probably a year, a year and some change straight, he was working on his record and he basically put that on hold once we got on the road with my record, which I'm extremely grateful for you know." Dre previously promised appearances by Lil Wayne and Jay-Z while originally aiming to release Detox late last year.

"In a perfect world, I'm shooting for a November or December release," Dre said in an interview. "I've never set out to do that," says Dre, 43. "I just make the music feel the way I want it to feel and I don't put it out until I'm totally happy with it. Then it does what it does." (USA Today)

Detox will reportedly land in stores by late 2009 via Interscope/Aftermath Records.
