G-Unit's 50 Cent reportedly began filming an upcoming movie called Caught in the Crossfire late last week in Michigan.
While details are still scarce, the movie appears to be a crime thriller.
50 Cent is in the crossfire in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The rapper/actor, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, is part of a "smaller budget" police/crime film called Caught in the Crossfire that started production Friday (May 22). Our movie blogger Aaron Lafferty wrote on his Laff at the Movies blog, "the production crew, out of Los Angeles, is scheduled to be in the Grand Rapids area for 3 weeks." (Wood TV)
Fif's return to the big screen will be alongside established actors.
The film stars features 50 Cent along with Adam Rodriguez ("CSI: Miami") and Chris Klein (American Pie). Rick Hert, film commissioner for the West Michigan Film Office, says the movie is being produced in conjunction with Michigan's tax incentives for film producers. Hert says details about the film aren't being publicized yet. 50 Cent has made past visits to Grand Rapids for a 2003 concert and a celebrity basketball game organized by boxer Floyd Mayweather. The project is likely to continue filming through next month.
Filming for Caught in the Crossfire is expected to continue through early to mid June, according to Rick Hert, film commissioner for the West Michigan Film Office. More details about the film, including plot and filming locations, are being kept mostly under wraps, he said. On Friday morning, onlookers at J. Gardella's Tavern, 11 Ionia Ave. SW, saw crews film Adam Rodriguez ("CSI: Miami") getting into an unmarked police car with actor Chris Klein on Ionia Avenue. 50 Cent was not visible. (Michigan Live)
Fif was recently announced to star in the upcoming horror movie remake Jekyll and Hyde.
Director Abel Ferrara is taking another walk on the wild side with a re-imagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, which will be contemporized and titled Jekyll and Hyde. Forest Whitaker and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson are attached to play the lead roles in the classic tale about a doctor who invents a potion that unleashes his violent alter ego. (Variety)
A release date for Caught in the Crossfire has not yet been announced.
