Grammy-winning rapper T.I. has announced plans to re-release his multi-platinum Paper Trail album as he prepares for his prison sentence by next month.

The rapper-turned-actor will treat fans with new music and possibly new guest appearances.

T.I. said the project will include five additional songs acknowledging he has a number of tracks he's already recorded to choose from including leaked early collaborations with The-Dream and Ciara. He also has a Kanye West verse. "I'm still in the process of picking the songs," T.I. said in an interview. "But I'm also still recording. I'm able to record any time, through the best of times and through the worst of times, I'm still able to record. It may change the sort of song you do, but you never can tell. You never know until that moment gets there." (MTV)

Tip's Paper Trail has remained in the Top 50 in albums sold since its release last September and is nearing double platinum status.

Self-proclaimed "King of the South" T.I.'s Paper Trail dropped 12 slots to No. 24 moving 20,100. After 26 weeks in stores, the rapper's sixth album stands at 1,836,800 copies. (Sales Wrap)

After appearing in court last month, the rapper will begin a year-long prison bid prior to summer.

A judge sentenced T.I. today (March 27) to one year and a day behind bars on federal weapons charges today. The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, apologized at the hearing. "Today I would like to say thank you to some, and apologize to all," the rapper told U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell Jr. at sentencing. "Everything I learned was through trial and errorr. I've learned lessons in my life to put in my music so people won't make the same mistakes as I." (Associated Press)

He recently spoke with SOHH about his final plans prior to beginning his sentence.

"[I] focus on today and let tomorrow handle itself," he said. "That's all I can do. I don't have [to think about it.] I know it's there. It doesn't require any thought. I think about preparing myself financially making sure that everything is in place that I need it to be in order for the lifestyle of my family to continue in the way that it must." (SOHH)

The re-released Paper Trail project is slated to hit shelves before the end of 2009.
