1. Who Got Next?
This week the battle buzz has been centered around Rick Ross vs. Asher Roth, given that the two artists dropped albums on the same day, Deeper Than Rap and Asleep In The Bread Aisle respectively. Everyone is pitting them against one another in a sales competition, which Ross is currently winning by a big number. They even made light of the contest during a visit to New York's Hot 97 radio station. [Watch Here]
That's funny, but Ross is really serious about his intentions to battle another white rapper. The Miami rapper has made it known that battling the multi-platinum superstar Eminem is indeed something he's seriously considering. He confirmed such to MTV News... [Watch Here]
"I mean, I'm a fan of Eminem. I'm a fan first and foremost. But after defeating Curly, my confidence is at an all-time high. Maybe before I wouldn't have challenged him, but I'm contemplating it now. The game is commending me for my victory. That's all I wanted to do was... punish the opposition. I think I've done a great job and I'm gonna continue to do that."
Asked if he'd change his tune and instead work with Em, he said...
"I'm trying to be a part of that. It's either way. We gonna see each other one way or another."
Well Ross may have to wait a while for any of that to happen. He isn't currently on Em's list of rappers to work with but Lil' Wayne is. In fact, Em told radio personality Angela Yee that Wayne is actually someone he'd do a collaboration with.
"I would. There hasn't really necessarily been a time for me to go to collaborate and sh-- lately, because I been so locked down in the studio. But I'm open for whatever. There's a lot of rappers in the game I respect, especially right now."
Those other rappers Em mentioned were T.I. and Kanye West, no mention of Officer Ricky. Don't hold your breathe waiting for a response from Em, big guy.
2. Twitter Thuggin
We all know Jim Jones loves Twitter. Sean "Diddy" Combs is probably the only other hip-hop star that does it bigger on Twitter than Jones. I mean Jimmy has been know to tweet from court. Tweet about fights and his smoking habits. This week he tweeted his opinion on Kanye West's new kicks, Air Yeezy. In a twitter conversation with Complex magazine editor Joe La Puma, Jimmy made it clear how he felt about Kanye's footwear. Here's the brief conversation.
JLPuma @jimjonescapo: Would you rock the Yeezys? The streets wants to know.
jimjonescapo@JLaPuma: rather look for a tall buildin to jump of with no parashute matter fact I rather ear some orange swade etonics from 1988 lol nev [sic]
Kanyegayfish@jimjonescapo: wearing Air Yeezy's will make you feel like you're wearing a parashute after you jump off of that tall buildin [sic]
3. New Laws
50 Cent has admitted on several occasions that the Robert Greene book, "48 Laws of Power" has helped in his career. So after achieving worldwide success, why not add your own laws to the list and write a book called "50 Laws". That's exactly what 50 is doing in a collaboration with Robert Greene. Now it looks like the book will be coming out this year.
Let's hope the date on this one is more solid than "Tia's Diary: Deeper Than Rap," the book from Rick Ross baby momma, Tia Kemp. Remember the scathing memoir was supposed to hit stands the same day as Rick Ross' Deeper Than Rap album? It didn't happen.
4.Body Of Work
While you wait for 50's book, brace yourselves for another hip-hop tell-all book. This one comes courtesy of video vixen Buff The Body. The bootyful honey who made her mark staring in rap videos alongside Tony Yayo, 50 Cent and others is set to tell the story of how she went from pole dancing stripper to vixen icon. Here's an excerpt from the upcoming book "Vixen Icon".
"I will never regret anything I've ever done in my life. I have a love/hate attitude towards the strip game. I love and honor the experience, the money and the hustle and grind; the lessons are priceless. I learned something valuable from every club and every city I visited. What I learned has brought me here, where I sit writing now, without the Superhead nonsense."
**Whistling as I look up at the sky** Say something nice...say something nice...Aw hell! I hope she reveals more with pictures than with words. **Shrugs**
5. He/She Said
Ever since he cut ties with Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace label, Chingy has been pretty much out of the spotlight. However, whenever he does get some attention it's usually for something bad, like a new single or something. This time the attention he is drawing is downright disturbing. A transsexual rapper by the name of Foxxjazell has alleged that he/she has had relations with the "Right Thurr" rapper. The tranny made this startling confession on Street Disciple radio. [Watch Here]
Of course Chingy denied having any kind of closet romance with him or her. [Watch Here]
"I don't have a secret lifestyle my n*gga. What is you talking about? I didn't know a n*gga could hate a nigga that much to where they would go and make this shit up. To Street Disciple radio, whoever that is, whatever radio station that is, they could eat a dick. That's just out of line to put some sh*t up there like that."
This is literally a he said, she said situation. And in the illustrious words of the O.G. Pimp C, "this is some real dick in the booty ass n*gga shit. I don't want no parts of this."
