Nate Dogg has had felony charges dropped against him stemming from alleged stalking and criminal threat accusations towards his wife last summer.
The decision was made yesterday (April 15) afternoon.
California prosecutors on Wednesday dropped the charges against the 38-year-old rapper, whose real name is Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, saying the alleged victim has not contacted them. (Star Tribune)
The hip-hop crooner pleaded not guilty to the charges last summer.
Nate appeared in a Compton court yesterday (July 17) to plead not guilty to felony charges related to his arrest last month for allegedly threatening his estranged wife. Nate rolled into the court room in a wheel chair. The one-time go to man for rap hooks was left partially paralyzed after the stroke he suffered six months ago. (E! Online)
He was arrested last June on multiple criminal charges.
The 38-year-old was hauled in on June 23 after the California Highway Patrol fielded a 911 call from his wife who identified herself only as Latoya C., claiming that he was chasing her on an L.A. freeway. Nate Dogg would have been released on $50,000 bond, but Compton Superior Court Commissioner Joel Wallenstein upped the amount to $100,000. (SOHH)
Nate's alleged criminal threats details were leaked to the public last summer.
"[A] felony was committed by Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, who did willfully and unlawfully threaten to commit a crime, which would result in death and great bodily injury toLatoya C.," a statement reads. "It is further alleged that the said Latoya C. was reasonably in fear of his/her safety and the safety of his/her immediate family." (TMZ)
