News: Lil Wayne Rocks Out W/ Kanye West & Coldplay

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne has been chosen to perform at Denmark's Roskilde Festival this summer with already billed artists including Kanye West and Coldplay.
Weezy will join a variety of rock-based music acts this July.
Wayne will perform at one of Europe's biggest annual summer music events. The hip-hop phenomenon is billed to perform live on the Orange Stage. Wayne was added to the festival line-up alongside Eagles of Death Metal, Kanye West, Coldplay, Oh No Ono, Lily Allen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Pet Shop Boys, Nick Cave, the Bad Seeds and Peter Sommer. This year's festival runs from July 2-5. (Roskilde Festival)
The upcoming festival's focus will remain on raising environmental awareness.
Organizers have announced an environmentally conscious theme for the 2009 Roskilde dubbed "Green Footsteps," which will raise global climate change awareness among the estimated 75,000-plus attendees. The festival's Odeon and Sustainable Stages will host CO2-friendly concerts, and donations will go towards environmental projects in India and Bangladesh. (Billboard)
Roskilde is known for drawing in large crowds of music fans.
Every year in July 170 bands play for around 80.000 visitors in Roskilde. Even though Roskilde is among the oldest is rock festivals of the world, Roskilde is well known for constant development presenting a mix of well establish music names and new talents. In 2007 the festival presented: Beastie Boys, Bjork, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tiesto and The Who. (Erantis)
Weezy is also billed to perform the following day in London.
Adding a second performance to his touring plans after his first July 6th show reportedly sold-out for London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo venue, Wayne is now slated to perform the following day, July 7th, at the popular location. No word on whether or not Kid Cudi will be on-hand to join the second show. (Ticketmaster)
