Grammy-nominated rapper Young Jeezy has "put on" artists from his CTE (Corporate Thugz Entertainment) label with the release of Shield Gang 2: In the Shield We Trust.

Giving his crew the same opportunity he once had, Jeezy is aiming to offer each member of CTE the same opportunity for success he's achieved within hip-hop.

"Shield Gang was crazy, you got everybody on there," Jeezy said in an interview. "Nobody gave me a ladder to climb...When I got there, I said, 'I'm gonna throw the ladder down for my homies and keep the door open.' Ain't nothing up here fabricated. Everybody do what they do in some other way to make a living, but they love music. That's why we here. I was the same way six, seven years back. I felt like it was only right to give them their just due. I just been grinding, homie, making sure the homies get in. We way stronger than this. It's a lot of homies that represent CTE, but we are the streets. You talking to the cat that comes from mixtapes. I wouldn't have a job if it wasn't for mixtapes. I passed out tapes. I respect the game." (MTV)

Jeezy's success landed him an opportunity to join forces with the same management team responsible for handling rap stars Kanye West and Lil Wayne.

"It got to the point where I wanted to focus just on my music and I wanted to trust somebody else to put it in they hands," Jeezy said in an interview. "So I just took my Louis Vuitton backpack off and put it on them for a minute. I been doing a lot for myself, but sometimes you just gotta expand your game and the way you do that is get linked with people. That's what they do for a living, all day everyday." (Rap Radar)

The announcement was officially made earlier this month.

Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy is signing up with Hip-Hop Since 1978, the heavy-hitting management firm that handles both Kanye West and Lil Wayne. His longtime manager Demetrius "Kinky B" Ellerbee will continue to work with the new team. This is a big piece of news, a signal that Jeezy has entered the realm of rap royalty. Despite his popularity, Jeezy also recently caught some heat for an incident between his CTE crew and DJ Drama's camp earlier this year at a Notorious screening.

Aphilliates Music Group President La the Darkman confirmed Drama was assaulted at the film's premiere in Atlanta January 13, by members of Young Jeezy's crew CTE. Drama walked away unscathed. "There was a little scuffle. At a movie screening," Darkman explained in an interview. "A little thing that got handled. Fake thugs with low self esteem want to pick on the DJs. We definitely didn't initiate this though. DJs don't go looking for beef with fake gangstas." (The Boom Box)
