While having to push his forthcoming album The Last Kiss back until next month, Jadakiss has made use of his time scouting additional artists and producers including Nas, Swizz Beatz and Mary J. Blige for his Def Jam releaset.
With less than a month until his solo disc drops, Kiss recently revealed additional cuts likely to make the album.
"I just went back in though," he said in an interview. "I did two joints with Swizz, I got one from [DJ] Khaled by The Inkredibles will be on it. And I got another Pharrell joint. You know what it is already...I went back in. As long as they keep working and making me push the date back, I just keep going in the studio making more music for the people. Whatever don't go on the album, you definitiely gonna get it on the mixtape...I got that joint from Khaled that has Mary on it...I got the 'What If' with Nas that's like an uppercut, nah mean?" Prior to his latest setback, Kiss previously announced the album would be dropping this month.
"March 10th, the album is in stores. The Last Kiss," he confirmed in a video. "We got that conglomerate joint out. That Ryan Leslie joint out there. I got a new single, "Can't Stop Me." The djs are loving that. I'm gonna shoot [a video for] that in a minute -- the album is crack. You already know we mixing right now. I'm trying to squeeze one more joint off but the album is definitely crack -- the covers are gonna start coming. Everything's gonna start falling in place. It takes a lil' longer now because the game is different but you know the kid is gonna bubble no matter what's going on." (Best of Both Worlds)
His album was previously re-named late last year after concern grew at retail stores.
"I had to change the name of my album. Kiss My Ass wasn't testing well at retail," Kiss said in a video. "Not even with the exclamations or none of that. So we had to switch it to The Last Kiss." (SOHH)
While new songs are likely to appear on the album, an early Last Kiss tracklisting recently emerged.
Songs included on the album are "Pain & Torture," "Something Else," "Things I've Been Through," "Can't Stop Me," "Money and Jewelry," "Times Up," "I Tried," "Two-Step," and "By My Side." Guest appearances include Young Jeezy, Jazmine Sullivan, Barrington Levy, Avery Storm, Sheek Louch, Ne-Yo, Lil Wayne and more. (Billboard)
The Last Kiss is tentatively scheduled to hit retail stores Tuesday, April 7 via Def Jam.
