News: Update: Coolio Busted W/ Crack Cocaine, Snagged At Airport

Grammy-winning rapper Artis "Coolio" Ivey was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport Friday (March 6) morning for reportedly possessing crack cocaine.
The rapper-turned-actor was busted on his way through security.
The 45-year-old rapper, whose real name is Artis Levon Ivey Jr, was taken into custody at an LAX terminal at mid-morning after he was found with the narcotics, a Los Angeles police spokeswoman said. (Reuters)
Following the incident, he was then booked by police.
We're told the rapper was going through a security screening to get to his Southwest Airlines flight when a screener found crack cocaine on his person. Sources close to the situation tell us Coolio got physical with the screener at some point during the incident. Coolio was booked by LAX police. (TMZ)
He was reportedly on his way to perform in Oklahoma.
The recording artist, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey, Jr., reportedly was attempting to board a Southwest Airlines flight to Tulsa, Ok., where he was slated to perform with Tone Loc and Shock G of The Digital Underground when airport security allegedly discovered he had crack cocaine on his person. The rapper has over two decades of history within the entertainment industry.
Coolio has not had a chart hit in nearly a decade, but he has made a second career as an actor, appearing on "Charmed" and "Futurama," as well as a number of reality shows, including "Celebrity Fear Factor," "Celebrity Bootcamp" and the recent online cooking show, "Cookin' With Coolio." Last year, he and his family starred in the Oxygen network reality show "Coolio's Rules," and he was seen in the British "Celebrity Big Brother" program in January, alongside such C-list celebrities as LaToya Jackson, buxom English pinup Lucy Pinder and Verne Troyer. Coolio was reportedly released hours after his arrest.
He was released on $10,000 bail this afternoon after being booked on suspicion of felony narcotics possession at the L.A. Police Department's Pacific Division. (E! Online)
