Grammy-winning singers Rihanna and Chris Brown have canceled upcoming performances including a sold-out concert in Malyasia and this weekend's NBA All-Star events.
Following her release from Cedars-Sinai hospital last night (February 9), the "Umbrella" hitmaker has called off a line of forthcoming events.
Rihanna's canceled all upcoming appearances and shows including her upcoming sold-out concert in Malaysia. Pineapple Concerts managing director Razman Razali says in a statement: "In light of recent events involving Rihanna, (William Morris Agency) will confirm within two weeks from now on a replacement date to be mutually agreed (upon by the organizer and the singer's team). We sincerely regret this unavoidable shift in schedule and apologize to the fans for any inconvenience caused." (Hollyscoop)
The male superstar has also canceled his appearances at this weekend's All-Star festivities.
The 19-year-old had been tapped to introduce the players with Shaquille O'Neal before tip-off at Phoenix's US Airways Center. His "No Air" partner Jordin Sparks will be singing the national anthem. "Chris Brown has withdrawn from NBA All-Star events," an NBA spokeswoman confirmed to E! News today. (E! News)
Brown is reportedly set for an arraignment beginning early next month.
The singer is now scheduled for an arraignment in the first week of March. Some reports question whether or not some kind of plea bargain will occur before that date. In many cases, especially with celebrities, jail can be avoided with big fines, public acts of contrition, and heartfelt visits to Oprah. (Fox News)
The couple's alleged domestic dispute took place prior to Sunday's Grammys ceremony.
Los Angeles police say they're investigating an alleged domestic violence felony battery report involving Chris Brown. The police department says in a release the 19-year-old singer and a woman were in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighborhood early Sunday when they began arguing.
