MC Serch is among a diverse panel of artists, scholars and activists who are currently participating in a series of nationwide community dialogues on hip-hop called Rap Sessions.

Rap Sessions, is a tour that is intended to spark dialogue among youth and community leaders nationwide.

[Participants will] engage in candid, compelling conversations about the ways that race and democracy are being redefined in our national culture. Targeting the hip-hop generation that helped build early support for America's first Black president, these interactive townhall meetings debate the extent to which young Americans have opened a new chapter in American race relations. A number of prominent thinkers and personalities are participating in Rap Sessions.

Moderator Bakari Kitwana is a journalist, activist and political analyst whose commentary on politics and youth culture has been featured on CNN, FOX News, C-Span, PBS and NPR. Additional panelists are MC Serch - best known for his work as one-half of 3rd Bass with which he has two gold albums and M-1, who is known as one-half of the political, hip hop duo Dead Prez. (East Tennessean)

For the past four years Rap Sessions has transformed the traditional townhall style meeting to appeal to the hip-hop audience.

Live hip-hop performances from selected poets, MCs and DJs will transform the meeting into a multi-media symposium. Each event will feature a live dj, end with a question and answer session, and be followed by author book signings. (Campus Progress)
