"Hi Hater" rapper Maino has stepped forward to share his thoughts on the 50 Cent and Rick Ross rap battle saying "it's hip-hop."
The Brooklyn, New York-bred emcee appears to be enjoying rap's newest beef.
"I love it. It's fun.," Maino said in an interview." It's very entertaining. I'm watching it like 'Whoa, oh sh*t.' It's hip-hop. N*ggas like, 'Yo, how he gonna get his baby mom,' man f*ck that. This is what it is. Everybody accountable for what they're saying. If you say something to another dude, better be sure somebody else is gonna be saying something to counter that. The same tactics you use can be used against you...If [Ross] was a C.O., he should have just said he was a C.O....But I think when you lie and you got the actual facts and documents and stuff like that and it looks crazy. You're lying about that, then what else you lying about?" (This Is 50)
Maino is also known for publicly engaging in hip-hop confrontations such as smacking Yung Berg while at an Atlanta nightclub last year.
"Yea, he was a little disrespectful, so I just tried to clean him up a little bit, and just give him a little togetherness. That's all," Maino told radio personality Jenny Boom Boom. "[Yung Berg] approached me and said to me 'Yo, I heard you were talking reckless about me.' I said 'What?' He said 'Yea, I heard you was talking reckless about me.' So, his body language and his mannerisms led me to believe he was being disrespectful to me, so I slapped him. That's all I did to him." (Jenny Boom Boom)
The currrent 50 vs. Ross spectacle has even caused The Game to side with his former boss.
"For the first time in four years, man, I'm kinda low key riding with 50 on this one," Game said in an interview. "I'm siding with this dude homie. It's crazy, I don't know what's gonna come of it but yo, Ross, call me on my phone man...Call me on three-way so I can get you outta this mess, man... took his baby mama shopping. She's trying on fur coats with the Stevie Wonder jamming...Eh, Rick Ross, man, holla at your boy! 50 eating you boy!" (KUBE 93)
Ross has released an anti-50 music video called "Gang Related."
"I don't Murs, but I know birds/I bet I knew furs outta all you n*gga's first/fake tough guys, it ain't even in your blood/sex, money, murder, all them n*gga's give me love...Never wanna talk/Got the burner in the winter, in the middle of New York/Better hear the facts 'cause it's deeper than the rap/I got people that'll eat cha way deeper than the stack" (World Star Hip Hop)
